Let's start with the easy part: organizing your Super Bowl drinks.
Super Bowl Drink Recipes
For most men, the "recipe" will be to find out what kind of beer he drinks, and purchase it in large quantities. It is perfectly acceptable to ask your male guests to bring a case of their favorite beer. This way, you can save on expenses, and the men cannot complain about the beer because they brought their own!
For non beer drinkers and celiacs, you will need to get a little more creative. Wine is a good drink for any party, and Super Bowl parties are no exception. However, you should take care to find a wine that pairs well with typical Super Bowl party food (see below).
Many Super Bowl foods are greasy, and often spicy, so you'll need full-bodied red wine that can hold its own in that kind of company. White wine drinkers should stick to something dry if there are sweet foods, and vice versa.

We suggest simple drinks that can be made quickly, unless you have a friend who is going to be bar person for the night.
Even if you do have a volunteer Tom Cruise stand-in for Super Bowl Sunday, it's a wise idea to limit the choices, so the cocktail mixer stays sane! We recommend one of the following:

Ciapirinha: this south American staple involves rum, lime, ice and sugar. It's easy to make and easy to drink, and will cut spicy wings and greasy food pretty well.
Super Bowl Snack Recipes
You don't need to get too fancy when you're preparing snacks for the Super Bowl party. Ideas for snacks include:
- popcorn -- flavored or plain
- mini sausages on cocktail sticks
- pretzels
- chips and dip
- raw vegetables, cut up with dip
- candy
Because
a lot of attention is going to be on the TV, and most people will be
juggling a drink with snacks, you want stuff that is fairly easy to
transport from bowl to mouth without too much manual dexterity
required. We suggest paper plates for the snacks, so you have less
cleaning up to do after the party ends.
Use recycled paper plates if your conscience demands that you make a token effort to be "green" for the Super Bowl party, but it's one of the worst days of the year for the environmentally minded person. There just isn't a lot of themed Super Bowl party supplies in post consumer materials. If it bothers you that much, use plates and do the dishes, or better yet, make the guys do the dishes after the game.
SuperBowl Recipes
SuperBowl party recipes tend to focus on deep frying stuff until it becomes finger food. We feel that's a waste, because you will already have a lot of finger food with the snacks, and our Super Bowl party ideas want to be a little different. So we're going to present a safe option, and a more radical option, if you're feeling more daring.
Safe option: Super Bowl Sunday Burger
Ingredients:
Hamburger patties
Graham cracker crumbs
Thin slices of Colby Jack or Cheddar cheese
Make a regular hamburger patty with fresh ground meat, or buy them ready made. Beat an egg and "paint" each patty with the mixed egg. Now dip the burger into Graham crumbs, flash fry for one minute per side, and serve with a slice of Cheddar or Colby Jack on top and a choice of sauces on the side.
The sweetness of the Graham cracker crumbs will bring out the flavor in the meat. Resist the temptation to go all dressed with this one, or the flavors will compete too much. Especially avoid sweet burger relish.
Radical
option: Armadillo Eggs
Ingredients:
2 lb sausage
16 oz shredded Cheddar cheese
8 oz cream cheese
1 package of chicken oven fry, aka Shake 'n Bake
3 egg whites
15 whole fresh jalapeno peppers
Cut tops off of pepper and clean out the inside. Stuff
peppers with cream cheese. Mix Cheddar cheese and sausage
together. Pack this mixture around each pepper.
Beat egg whites in a bowl and paint on the outside of sausage
peppers. Roll in oven fry. Bake in a preheated 350
degree oven for 35-40 minutes.

Super Bowl Decorations
You can really go to town with Super Bowl parties, but we're trying to focus on making this year's Super Bowl something different, without breaking the bank. So you can forget splashing out on tons of football themed junk that will either end up in landfill, or not used again until next February.
Get creative. Look around the house for anything featuring the colors of the two finalist teams. Or go to the Dollar store and buy ribbons or streamers in the right colors.
Keep it simple. See if you can find some footballs, or better yet a football helmet. To be honest, it's usually women who care a lot about how a party looks, but men don't really give a crap as long as there's beer and food in large quantities.
Hot Super Bowl Party Idea: You could surprise the guys by arranging for yourself and your friends to dress up as cheerleaders. Believe me, the sight of their women in cheerleader costumes will do more for the guys than any party decorations you might invest time and effort in, and be much more memorable, too.
